Privacy Policy

When you use Velacare, we collect:

• Account info — your email address when you sign up
• Dog profile — your dog's name (and optionally breed, weight, date of birth)
• Lab reports — the PDF files you upload and the biomarker data we extract from them
• Usage data — basic analytics like which pages you visit and how you use the app

We use your data to:

• Show you your dog's biomarker trends over time
• Extract lab values from the PDFs you upload
• Send you account-related emails (sign-in links, etc.)
• Improve the product based on how people use it

We do not sell your data to anyone. Ever.

Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database. Uploaded PDFs are stored in Supabase (a cloud storage service). All connections use HTTPS encryption.

We use a small number of third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — to extract biomarker data from your PDFs. The text content of your PDFs is sent to their API for processing.
• Supabase — to store your uploaded PDF files
• SendGrid — to send sign-in emails
• Mixpanel — for anonymous usage analytics

You can:

• Delete your lab data at any time from the dashboard menu
• Request a copy of all data we have about you — email us and we'll send it to you
• Delete your account entirely — email us and we'll remove everything

If you're in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to restrict processing.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email or with a notice in the app. Minor wording changes may happen without notice.
